Risk Factors and Symptoms

Most likely, you are going to get asthma from hereditary or allergies. Children who have asthma probably developed it before the age of 10. Adults can develop asthma at any age including age 70 and beyond. Many other people can get asthma because of a medical condition.
 
Risk Factors:
Exposure to secondhand smoking
Being exposed to bad air pollution
A family history of asthma
Low birth weight
Obesity
Gastroesophageal reflux disease
 
Minor Symptoms:
Wheezing
Difficulty breathing
Tightness in the chest
Coughing
 
Major Symptoms:
Extreme difficullty breathing
Bluish lips and nails
Severe breathlessness
Increased pulse rate
Sweating
Severe coughing
